International Global Payroll and Taxation in Uzbekistan
Employment related taxes
Personal Income Tax (PIT). Both residents and non-residents are subject to tax in Uzbekistan. Residents are taxed on their worldwide income; non-residents are taxed on income from sources in Uzbekistan.
Social security contributions. Social Tax (ST) is charged on gross payroll of local and foreign employees and payable by the employers.
Payroll Cycle in Uzbekistan
The terms of remuneration are established in a collective agreement or other local regulatory act and cannot be less than once every half month. In exceptional cases, for certain categories of workers, the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan may establish other terms for the payment of wages.
If the payment day coincides with the weekend or public holiday, payment is made the day before.
Non-payroll taxes in Uzbekistan
Legal entities are subject to VAT, which is applied to the turnover of goods and services. The taxable base is determined as the sale price of supplied goods/services.
Insurance and most types of financial services are exempt from VAT.
Reporting and tax payments are made on a monthly basis.
