Sponsorship and work authorisation
Acumen International employs your people in the destination as their Global Employer of Record and sponsors their work authorisation and their families’ visas, so they work compliantly from the first day of the assignment to the last.
Sponsorship and permits
Acumen acts as work authorisation sponsor, taking on the salary, labour-market and ongoing obligations.
We offer
Permit category matched to duties and seniority
Labour-market tests and salary thresholds met
Sponsor obligations held by Acumen
Permit compliance
Permit conditions are monitored for the whole assignment, not only at filing.
We offer
Pay reviews checked against salary thresholds
Role and location changes assessed before they happen
Absences and departures reported within statutory deadlines
Continuity
Renewals are filed early enough that no assignee works on an expired permit.
We offer
Expiry dates tracked across every country
Extensions and changes of status
Change of permit category when the role changes
Dependants
We manage dependants’ immigration alongside the employee’s.
We Offer
Visa applications for spouses, partners and children
Family permits renewed alongside the main permit
Support for each family member through to approval
Immigration that keeps pace with your plans
Immigration challenges we solve
Shifting rules, processing delays, disrupted plans and compliance exposure. Our specialists handle each one, so none of them holds your business back.
Changing rules
Rules shift across 190+ countries. We track every change and apply it to your applications and active permits.
Visa delays
Incomplete applications stall. We file every application complete and correct from the start.
Disrupted plans
A late permit can hold up a launch. We set start dates against realistic processing times, so projects keep to schedule.
Compliance risk
A breached permit condition puts the business at risk. We meet sponsor duties and permit conditions for the life of every permit.
What you can rely on
The Acumen standard
Every employment we run is held to the same commitments, in each of 190+ countries.
01
A coordinated specialist team
Immigration, payroll, tax and HR specialists work each move as one team, so the case is fully managed by us.
02
Thresholds watched
If a pay review or role change would take salary below the permit’s threshold, you hear from us before it takes effect, not after an inspection.
03
Reporting on time
Absences, role changes and early departures are reported to the authority within the legal deadline
04
Payroll-ready on arrival
Residence registration and a local tax number are in place early, so the first salary is paid on time.
05
An informed employee
Your employee knows which appointments to attend, what to bring and when they can start, explained by a specialist who speaks their language.
06
Dependants’ visas
We file your employee’s family applications together, so partners and children move with them.

MOBILITY ADVISORY
Get the move right from the start
Every international move starts with a different set of facts: destination, nationality, role, salary, timing, family circumstances, and the local employment route.
We assess those factors together and determine what the move will require before you commit to it — from sponsorship eligibility and salary thresholds to quotas, local hiring rules, and supporting documentation.
We also map who needs to sign off, from finance and HR to legal and tax, so the proposal answers each of them from the start.
From your initial feasibility check to final onboarding, you’ll have complete clarity on what is viable, how the employment is set up, and every step that follows.
The practical details
What clients ask us most
Practical and commercial answers on employing people abroad through a Global Employer of Record.
If your question isn’t covered here, our in-country specialists can take you through the detail for the country and role you have in mind.
Can the employee start work while the permit is being processed?
No. Work begins once authorisation is granted. Some destinations allow work to continue during a pending renewal or under specific short-term routes, and we confirm what applies before a start date is agreed..
Who pays government and permit fees?
They are charged at cost and itemised in your proposal alongside Acumen’s service fee. Where local rules prohibit passing sponsor costs to the employee, we flag it.
We provide complete compliance risk assessments, local contract adaptation, tax filing, and continuous legal updates to safeguard your operations in every high-risk market we cover.
Can we move the employee onto our own entity later?
Yes, once your entity is able to sponsor. The permit usually has to be transferred or re-filed under the new sponsor, and we plan that step with you in advance.
We process unified multi-country payroll in local currencies, calculate mandatory social contributions, and administer compliant statutory and supplementary benefit packages for your global workforce.
